VOLVO Construction Equipment has entered a
whole new phase of its hydraulic hybrid technology with the launch of the EC260
Hybrid to EC500 Hybrid range of excavators. Not only do these 26 to 50 tonne
crawler excavators represent the future of excavator design, but the EC400
Hybrid and EC500 Hybrid are heavyweights in Volvo's hybrid portfolio.
According to Volvo, the new generation of excavators offers up to 20 per cent better fuel efficiency and 15 per cent fewer CO2 emissions than the conventional models in the previous range, while maintaining the consistently high productivity of Volvo excavators. Its hybrid technology improves fuel efficiency and reduces environmental impact by recovering the ‘free’ energy generated when the boom is lowered.
In addition, the new excavator features an
advanced electro-hydraulic system that reduces the number of hoses and
fittings, lowering maintenance requirements and improving reliability. VOLVO also offers a lifetime frame and structural warranty, as well as a comprehensive
range of service and financial services to help customers achieve more
sustainable and efficient operations.
