The battery is the power source and key electrical components of the electric aerial work platform, which is related to the performance and operation safety of the equipment. Therefore, it is very important to do the daily maintenance of the battery. The traction battery used in the electric aerial work platform is generally ordinary lead acid battery, its main advantages are voltage stability, high cost performance. In daily use and maintenance, do the following aspects, can effectively extend the service life of the battery.

1,outine inspection can not be ignored

The top of the battery and the terminal connection should be kept dry and clean, free of dust and corrosion, so as not to cause leakage or short circuit fault. If the battery surface is dirty, use a wet cloth or brush to clean the mixture of baking soda and water on the top of the battery, terminals and connection parts, and dry with a cloth to avoid cleaning solution into the battery interior.

 

Check whether the battery cable, terminal post and wire are damaged, check whether the battery terminal post joint and the connection with the wire are oxidized and corroded, and clean up or replace in time once found. At the same time check whether the battery cover deformation, heating phenomenon, if there is timely treatment.

 

It is recommended to check the battery level once a week. If the electrolyte level is too low, it will cause damage to the battery plate and partition, resulting in shorter battery life. The observation method of the electrolyte level is as follows: lift the cap and check the height of the liquid level. If it is lower than the bottom platform in the cap, the liquid level is too low, and the liquid should be replenked in time. If the liquid level is parallel or slightly higher than the topmost platform in the liquid cap, it is a suitable position.

 

2 Add liquid to the battery regularly

In general, if the height of the electrolyte liquid level is 10mm higher than the plate, it means that there is no need to add liquid. If the electrolyte level has not reached the plate, distilled or deionized water should be added. If too much distilled water is added, the electrolyte overflow will cause the battery box and cable to be corroded, thus affecting the service life of the battery.

 

The refueling frequency depends on the purpose and operating temperature of the battery. Generally, the longer the battery is used, the more frequent the refueling frequency. Before adding liquid, the ventilation cap should be removed to fully charge the battery. If the battery plate has been exposed to the liquid surface, add water to just immerse the plate before charging, and then charge, add distilled water. After adding liquid, the ventilation cap should be reinstalled to the battery.

 

3 Charge the battery strictly according to the specification

The battery should be fully charged after each use, do not discharge more than 80% of the capacity within 5h, and should be charged when the power is between 35% and 80% of the rated capacity. Lead-acid batteries have no memory effect and therefore do not need to be fully discharged before recharging. The new battery is recharged after 3 to 4 hours of use each time. The battery will emit gas (bubble) at the end of charging, so it is necessary to charge it in a well-ventilated area without open flames around. At the same time, pay special attention to do not charge the non-charging battery.

 

4 Pay attention to battery storage

The battery should be fully charged before storage. The battery should be stored in a cool, dry place protected from the weather. Disconnect from the device before storage to eliminate the potential risk of battery leakage. The battery will gradually self-discharge during storage. Monitor the specific gravity of the electrolyte or the battery voltage every 4 to 6 weeks. If the battery capacity is less than 70%, a supplementary charge should be carried out. The stored battery should be recharged before installation.

 

5 Maintenance should pay attention to safety

When checking and maintaining the battery, wear protective work clothes, protective gloves and goggles. The battery surface can not store any maintenance tools or other metal objects. The temperature of the battery in use should not exceed 60 to ensure that the battery is away from Mars, flame and metal objects. Splash electrolyte on the skin or eyes should be rinsed with plenty of water, and receive professional treatment if necessary. If the electrolyte is splashed on the clothes, the clothes should be taken off, rinsed with water and then rinsed with weak alkaline soap. When the electrolyte leaks to the outside, it can be neutralized by lime, strong carbonated soda or carbonated soda, etc., and rinsed with a lot of water.
